Annette Jones, DVM
Dr. Annette Jones is the hospital director of Bayview Animal Hospital. She has cared for pets at Bayview as a general practitioner since 2004 and has been with Monroe Veterinary Associates since 2001.
A native of Webster, NY, Dr. Jones attended Hartwick College and graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 1997. She continued her veterinary education at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2001.
Dr. Jones is passionate about veterinary care and derives great satisfaction from keeping pets healthy. Senior pet care is just one of her many professional interests. A member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the New York State Veterinary Medical Association, Dr. Jones is also an accredited veterinarian with the United States Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service.
At home, she enjoys the companionship of her three cats, Susie, Mouse and Christa. Her hobbies include traveling, baking, gardening, reading and skiing.
Joanna Bender, DVM
General practitioner Dr. Joanna Bender has cared for pets at Bayview Animal Hospital since 2006, and has been a veterinarian with Monroe Veterinary Associates since 1989. A native of Bloomfield, NJ, Dr. Bender attended Montclair State University, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry in 1984.
She continued her veterinary education at Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1988. Following veterinary school, Dr. Bender completed a one-year small animal internship at Cornell University from 1988-1989.
Dr. Bender is deeply committed to helping all animals and she volunteers her time with local spay/neuter clinics for feral cats. Dr. Bender's hobbies include backpacking, hiking and skiing. When she is home, she enjoys the companionship of her pets.
